Family

Lamar and I attended his sister's (Alisa) wedding last night. They were married at the same place Lamar and I were married. It was so beautiful. Alisa and Mike were both so lovely. The pastor who married them gave such a Christ-centered and God honoring ceremony. He focused on how Christ's relationship wit His church is the perfect picture and model of love and sacrifice that we should have in our own marriages. It reminded Lamar and I of how we should strive to love each other in our own marriage. It also reminded us to be praying for Mike and Alisa as they begin their marriage.

Lamar and I were also able to meet Mike's family last night at the wedding and Friday evening at the rehearsal dinner his parents hosted. They hosted such a lovely and generous dinner. Lamar and I were also able to meet a sweet couple: Anita and Fred. Anita is Mike's dad's sister. Anita and Fred love the Lord, and they were such an encouragement to us. We hope we will be in contact with them throughout our journeys. They too have hearts for missions. Amazing how God puts people with similar hearts in your path.

Needless to say, it has been a blessing to us both to spend time with Lamar's family while we are here. Family is so important, and I think we are both realizing that more and more as we prepare to leave. The best thing we can give our families is our time. It is nice to be able to do that.

We are off to church this morning and a lunch/afternoon with his family. Then, we are headed to Arkansas tomorrow morning. Our days in the states are winding down quickly.
