Train in the Distance

One of the main reasons I love Paul Simon is because he tells the truth. One of my favorite songs by him is “Train the Distance.”

Everyone loves the sound of a train in the distance; everybody thinks it’s true.

Guilty. I have always loved that sound, but I have also been working on reminding myself of the falseness, the hollowness in that sound. Some days I do better than others.
